The Sims Forever

The Sims

We'll Never Forsake our Simmies!

Maxis does not plan any more expansion packs for the original version of The Sims but that doesn't mean we've seen the end of our favorite game!

Millions of people bought The Sims, making the top-selling computer game of all time. We have grown quite attached to the little electronic characters who live in our computers. They are family now, and we would no more abandon them just because a new kid moved to the block than we would any other family member.

Although no more expansion packs are in the works, Maxis has committed to continue to support The Sims. As the work load for preparing the first release of The Sims 2 eases we may even seen an increased level of expertise applied to helping people get the most out of the original game.

The Sims

Computers on Steroids

In addition to players' affection for their sims and the familiar environment of the original game, we expect that many players -- perhaps the majority -- will find that their computers aren't yet ready for The Sims 2. Maxis pulled out all the stops with the new game, and it has some pretty hefty system requirements.

In fact, among the fourteen machines that your faithful SimsHost staff currently have hooked to the net, only one has the muscle required to run The Sims 2.

We expect that sales of the new game will be brisk even at the start, but even with sales of millions of copies (at $50 each), that leaves many more millions of players who still want to run the original game. When you have to update your graphics card or even buy a whole new machine, the cost of the game rises from just $50 to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. So we expect that the majority of Sims fans will wait until they would have upgraded their computers and then add The Sims 2 to their game play.

Whether you want to enjoy web sites for The Sims, The Sims 2, or both, and whether you are a fan, an artist, or a webmaster, rest assured that SimsHost will be here for you as long as there are fans who want us, and we will continue to offer the best value for everyone in the Sims community!
