Tom's Clothing Tester
Tom's Clothing Tester is a hidden object that lets you change your sim's clothing.
Warning: It appears that using Tom's Clothing Tester can cause errors in sims' career tracks. Sims seem to jump careers and then start to exhibit problems where they won't get in the car to go to work. If this happens to you, the only fix we've found is to move the family to a different house. We've been discussing this phenomenon in this thread in the Variousimmers Forum.
To get Tom's Clothing Tester:
- In the Command Window, enter:
boolprop testingcheatsenabled true
You can do this while you are on the lot.
You don't have to return to the Neighborhood screen first.
- Shift-Click on any adult sim
- Select "More" (If required to find "spawn")
- Select "Spawn"
- Select "Tom's Clothing Tester"
Tom's Clothing Tester should appear next to your sim. It looks like a regular
clothing rack. Once you have it,
you can turn off the Testing Cheats with:
- In the Command Window, enter:
boolprop testingcheatsenabled false
After that, Tom's Clothing Tester is just like any other object. You can move it around, rotate it, and
delete it. (I use them in my game to decorate closets as well as for the fun stuff they do.)
With Tom's Clothing Tester, you can perform the "Plan Outfit" functions of the clothing test without having to hike all the way to the bedroom and stand in front of the clothing chest.
It also makes it possible for your sim to dress in any of the NPC outfits, career outfits, or even selected part outfits. Or, if you're in a weird mood, there's a "burnt skin" option that shows what your sim would look like if fried while repairing an electrical object.
