Formats for Walls and Floors

You can use any graphics program to create source artwork for walls and floors. The important thing is to get the file sizes right.

Maxis art director Dave Patch says that the source files for walls in The Sims 2 have the same dimensions as in The Sims 2 (128x240), but they are now .tga files instead of 8-bit .bmp files.

Source art for floors must be square and the dimensions must be in even powers of 2. Maxis is mostly using 512x512.
